Job Summary

The Associate Director of Financial Aid will play a key role in managing and supervising the daily operations of the Financial Aid department. This position will assist in enhancing student access and enrollment, while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management of all facets of the Financial Aid operation
  • Provide oversight for the administration of federal, state, institutional, and outside financial aid programs
  • Coordinate and manage state programs, including SCTG, SC HOPE, LIFE, and Palmetto Fellows
  • Counsel and advise students on financial aid options and eligibility
  • Conduct audits of state awards and ensure compliance with regulations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree with three years of experience in a college/university financial aid setting preferred
  • Exceptional professionalism, trustworthiness, and dependability
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional regulations governing student financial aid
  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing Federal and State regulations pertaining to student financial aid and/or student employment
  • Experience with current higher education PowerFAIDS/Financial Aid Software
