Job Title: Backroom Lead Processor

Job Summary:

The Salvation Army Central Territory is seeking a highly motivated and organized Backroom Lead Processor to oversee the production process and personnel assigned to that process. The ideal candidate will have experience in retail sales production and/or thrift store experience, with a focus on meeting established production/sales quotas/goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign, direct, and ensure completion of daily tasks for production/department team members, including housekeeping for assigned spaces.
  • Train new team members on production expectations and processes.
  • Provide quality control inspections to ensure only the best product makes it to the floor.
  • Track and report production at scheduled times.
  • Participate in production processes as needed.
  • Use cash registers at locations that require.
  • Implement assigned strategies to meet product acquisition, production, and sales goals for the day/week/month.
  • Communicate with assigned personnel to place supply orders for next day's processing.
  • Support management with store maintenance and appearance.
  • Follow procedures for maintenance and safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring workspaces are prepared for the next day's production.
  • Look for ways to improve donor and shopper experience.
  • Communicate with Store Management regarding all facets of store operations, keeping them updated on all incidents and concerns for assigned areas.
  • Support management in creating a positive understanding of policies and procedures. Direct complaints and criticism to management.
  • Support the protection of resources under their supervision.
  • Implement Product Control Procedures to prevent shrinkage through theft or spoilage.
  • Control property, utility, and product supply waste.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma plus 1 year of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Retail sales production and/or thrift store experience is highly preferred.
  • Ability to speak, write, and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership and field personnel.
  • Basic computer skills, including payroll program and ability to learn other programs or systems.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to use basic math skills.
