About the Role

Ochsner Health System is seeking a skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team. As a CRNA, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and anesthesia services in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer anesthesia to patients during surgical, obstetrical, and other pain-producing clinical procedures under the supervision of a physician.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including residents, fellows, attendings, and staff, to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Assess patients before, during, and after administering anesthesia to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Document patient procedures and incidents accurately and thoroughly.
  • Participate in department quality assurance initiatives and activities of professional development.
Requirements
  • Master's degree from a school of nurse anesthesia accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).
  • 1 year of experience as a CRNA.
  • License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice.
  • Certification through the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
Work Environment

The CRNA will work in a patient care area, exposed to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent may be at risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment.
