Job Title: Outreach Worker

Join SMS Holdings in making a positive impact on our community as an Outreach Worker. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for establishing relationships with local social service agencies and directing individuals in need to available programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify Those In Need: Locate unhoused individuals in the community and direct them to services and agencies that can meet their needs.
  • Establish Relationships: Work with city, county, and state agencies to establish a cooperative effort to make a positive impact on the unsheltered population.
  • Patrol The District: Continuously canvass areas to offer support and resources to those in need.
  • Observe and Report: Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to Safety Associates via two-way radios.
  • Hospitality and Customer Service: Provide friendly greetings and directions to pedestrians, and offer information and recommendations to visitors.
  • Reporting: Provide written reports of daily accomplishments and tasks completed.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a positive, professional environment in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Block by Block standards.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Required experience working with the unhoused community, including outreach, mental health, and substance abuse.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and physical ability to traverse the district.
