Inpatient Speech Language Pathologist II

Position Overview:
Responsible for the assessment and management of communication disorders in patients with more intricate needs. Ensures adherence to established standards and regulatory guidelines. Supervises the activities of entry-level staff and contributes to community initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducts evaluations and administers diagnostic assessments, providing tailored treatment plans for both adults and children facing various communication challenges, including voice and swallowing difficulties, as well as neurological issues.
Consults with physicians and caregivers regarding diagnostic outcomes.
Collaborates with medical professionals to adjust treatment strategies as necessary. Provides mentorship to junior therapists and engages in the creation of in-service training programs for professional development. Oversees the performance of contract therapists and the care of patients in external facilities. Acts as a consultant within interdisciplinary teams.
Formulates, executes, and upholds departmental policies and procedures. Guarantees compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Identifies and proposes initiatives to optimize costs and enhance service delivery. Participates in community outreach programs.
Kaiser Permanente routinely reviews compensation for positions. The organization reserves the right to reassess and modify job descriptions or alter positions from salaried to hourly pay status, with prior notification to affected employees.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience
A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Speech Therapist.
Education
A Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.
Licensure and Certification
California Speech-Language Pathologist License
National Provider Identifier
Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Certificate
Basic Life Support certification required upon hire.
Additional Qualifications:
Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations.
Ability to thrive in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
