Transportation Planner II

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Planner II to join our team at the Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization (SCTPO). As a key member of our planning team, you will be responsible for participating in the development of planning projects, researching, analyzing, and assisting in planning studies related to transportation within the metropolitan planning area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage projects, utilizing consultants when appropriate, at the direction of management.
- Conduct research for each project; collect, analyze, and interpret data for use in developing recommendations for project implementation.
- Perform needs assessments, surveys, and/or special studies to gather pertinent information.
- Devises project procedures and schedules.
- Presents recommendations for project implementation to management and/or committees and board.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Transportation Planning, Urban/Regional Planning, Geography, Public Administration, Engineering, Geospatial Information Systems (GIS), Sociology, or any related field.
- Two (2) years experience in transportation planning and/or project management.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, or abilities may be substituted on a year for year basis.
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
Special Requirements:
- Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
Working Conditions:

Please note that although the SCTPO utilizes certain Brevard County services, such as Human Resources for posting of job openings, the selected candidate for this position will be employed by the Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization (SCTPO), not Brevard County Board of County Commissioners.
