Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our systems infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, stability, and security of our systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and configure systems, servers, and storage solutions to meet business needs
  • Proactively improve system reliability, stability, and security
  • Support existing applications and projects by responding to incidents, problems, and service requests
  • Operate in accordance with the Bank's control processes and follow IT guidelines
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system hardware, software, and networking issues
  • Configure, optimize, fine-tune, and monitor operating system software, servers, storage, virtualization software, and network devices
  • Design integration of cloud application and infrastructure services into existing IT systems
  • Ensure infrastructure and cloud services align to IT roadmaps and understand potential impact to Bank services and architecture
  • Perform system backups and recovery
  • Secure systems to meet corporate standards and best practices
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years' experience in a corporate environment with AS400, Windows, or UNIX servers, storage area networks, and/or network firewalls, switches, load balancers, and other network equipment
  • Experience with VMware VCenter: ESX, SRM, NSX-T, and VROPS
  • Experience with enterprise backup/restore, email servers, web servers, SharePoint, and/or other enterprise applications
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills that promote effective working relationships in a team-oriented environment
  • Experience with scripting languages, especially Windows PowerShell, is desired
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $105,000 to $117,000 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including 11 paid holidays, 5 weeks of PTO, and a hybrid work schedule of 3 days per week in office and 2 days per week work-from-home.
