Electrical Superintendent Leader

Job Summary:
Bechtel is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Superintendent to lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project. The successful candidate will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, coordinate subcontract work activities, and ensure team development. The Electrical Superintendent will oversee craft professionals to ensure they have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules, and budgets.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership / Supervision: Discipline Supervision of superintendents supporting 50 to 100 craft or responsible for Area/Facility
- Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned
- Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft
Planning / Productivity:
- Determines workforce requirements
- Coordinates established area operational plans
Tools, Materials & Equipment:
- Oversees tool and equipment usage on the site
- Manages the preparation of Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the craft professionals have the tools they require to be productive
Safety & Quality:
- Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation
- Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets
Technical:
- Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
- Manages engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals
Requirements:
- Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operation
- Knowledge of Bechtel's Zero Accident Philosophy
- Knowledge of the Project ES&H Handbook, the Supervisors ES&H Manual, the Project Safety Management Plan, and the Bechtel Core Processes
- Knowledge of the Six Sigma program tools and methodologies
- Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities
- Knowledge of Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs)
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications in accordance with current Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards
- Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment
- Working knowledge of unionized labor
- Knowledge of local labor laws and issues
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check which includes verification of employment and education
- Basic Field Manual and/or Non-Manual supervision experience with a strong electrical background
- Experience in Construction Project Planning and Scheduling
- Knowledge of Construction Quality Assurance
- Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operations
- Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities
- Working knowledge of unionized labor
- Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment
- Familiarity with current industry quality standards
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and technical database applications
- Experience with lock-out/tag-out requirements and processes
- Experience with the requirements of NFPA 70E
