The Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing daily operations within the retail environment. As a key member of the leadership team, this position is pivotal for the store's growth and success. The majority of the role involves staff development and training, driving sales performance, ensuring high-quality customer service, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations while upholding company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales targets by training, motivating, and mentoring the sales team.
  • Design and implement incentive programs to elevate service levels, encourage upselling, and boost team morale.
  • Ensure all technology systems are current with the latest information, including promotions and marketing materials.
  • Manage all returns, exchanges, and employee purchases effectively.
  • Oversee vendor returns for product replacements or credits.
  • Facilitate checkouts for staff, ensuring adherence to cash handling protocols.
  • Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed, securing the store before and after operating hours.
  • Collaborate with the management team to follow up on action items and address personnel matters.
  • Resolve customer inquiries and issues professionally and efficiently.
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating staff onboarding processes.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating POS systems in collaboration with inventory staff.
  • Ensure proper representation of the company brand at all times.
  • Support performance reviews for new hires and conduct annual evaluations for all staff members.
  • Develop and implement procedures to enhance customer service experiences.
  • Conduct weekly inventory audits, addressing discrepancies and ensuring reconciliation.
  • Maintain an Expiration Log for aging inventory and facilitate monthly reviews, communicating product status to management.
  • Coordinate with management to ensure consistent inventory supply.
  • Manage new product intakes and ensure compliance with company regulations.
  • Verify that all products are appropriately labeled prior to sale.
  • Maintain compliance with state regulations regarding product handling, storage, and sales.
  • Implement effective inventory organization and best practices.
  • Monitor inventory levels through internal systems and conduct daily audits to prevent loss.
  • Manage the store's waste log and report findings to relevant teams.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with METRC systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years in retail management.
  • Experience in the cannabis sector is preferred.

Physical Requirements
