Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Clinical/UKHC to join our team at the University of Kentucky's Trauma Acute Care Surgical Center. This is an exciting opportunity for a medical professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to a collaborative and dynamic environment.

About the Role

This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with trauma or acute care surgical conditions, including injuries resulting from blunt and penetrating trauma, vascular and non-elective orthopedic surgeries. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating comprehensive nursing care plans
  • Delivering direct patient care, ensuring patient satisfaction, and training Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistants)
  • Adhering to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local regulations
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Knowledge of Maslow's eight Basic Human Needs and the priority within Gordon's Functional Health Patterns Framework
  • Superb direct patient care and critical thinking skills
  • Basic computer navigation skills and working knowledge of the internet
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and physicians
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and delegation skills
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and at least one year of RN experience are preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to competitive compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
