Job Description

Karya Property Management is seeking a skilled Plumbing Technician to support our properties across our Nashville, TN portfolio.

This is a full-time position that reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and requires a strong background in plumbing upkeep, electrical, and other relevant apartment maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of experience in multifamily maintenance or equivalent field, with HVAC and EPA certification.

Responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in multi-family residential environments
  • Performing drain cleaning, sewage backup troubleshooting, and repairs
  • Working with blueprints and job specifications to determine work details or procedures
  • Identifying proper materials and quantities for new and existing projects
  • Reviewing blueprints, building codes, or specifications to determine work details or procedures
  • Keeping records of work assignments
  • Repairing, removing, and/or replacing system components
  • Installing green plumbing equipment, such as faucet flow restrictors, dual-flush or pressure-assisted flush toilets, or tankless hot water heaters
  • Welding small pipes or special piping, using specialized techniques, equipment, or materials
  • Performing other business-related duties as required

Requirements include:

  • 1+ years of experience in multifamily maintenance or equivalent field
  • HVAC and EPA certification
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Customer service experience
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Bilingual is a plus, but not required
  • Must be flexible and dependable
  • Must be a team player
  • Travel is expected for this position

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Prolonged periods sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday
  • Push, pull, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb stairs, and reach above shoulders
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work indoors/outdoors or in extreme weather conditions
  • Must be able to work weekends and/or evenings on a rotating schedule
