Job Responsibilities

As a RN Float, you'll be responsible for performing plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments. You'll also document patient care given, monitor and record patient condition, and communicate with the care team, physician, patient, and family as needed.

You'll assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. You'll also collaborate with the care team to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

You'll evaluate learning needs of patients and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. You'll work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients and display initiative and flexibility to float throughout the building as needed to ensure all departments and staff are supported.

Certifications and Licenses

We require critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. You must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

We require valid current Kentucky RN state licensure and certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). You'll also need to complete Handle with Care training within 30 days of hire and keep it annually. TNCC certification is preferred, and you'll need to complete specialty certification testing within 1 year of hire and pass within 1.5 years of hire.
