Software Quality Engineer

At Insperity, we're seeking a skilled Software Quality Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products within an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define holistic quality approaches to drive efficiency and excellence across the team.
  • Collaborate with product owners, developers, and QE leads to develop user story test strategies and actionable acceptance criteria.
  • Drive testability, measure test coverage, develop impactful automation, and promote best practices throughout the software development process.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated and manual test cases to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Utilize technical expertise in testing backend components such as Web Services, Database integrations, and APIs.
  • Champion a quality-first strategy and identify and communicate risks proactively.
  • Investigate and reproduce complex defects, working closely with developers and product owners to facilitate resolution and complete root cause analysis.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) of the product portfolio through continuous training.
  • Innovate and improve testing processes.
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Three to five years of software testing experience.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines is preferred.
  • Prior experience working in the human resources or payroll industries is preferred.
Preferred Skills:
  • Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks, as well as source control tools.
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality standards.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment and prioritize workload and deliverables within schedule constraints to deliver results.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, Git, Selenium, Agile methodology, C#, or Java.
