Job Summary:
We are seeking a visionary Chief Technology Officer to lead our digital transformation and drive innovation in clinical research. The successful candidate will develop and execute a comprehensive digital strategy, leveraging technology to enhance research operations and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy and Leadership:
Develop a clear digital vision and roadmap, aligning technology with business objectives and driving digital transformation across the organization.
Lead the design and implementation of new digital infrastructure, including software for clinical research, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
Develop budgets and monitor expenditures related to digital initiatives, ensuring strategic alignment and optimal resource allocation.

Technical Expertise:
Drive technical innovation, evaluating and implementing cutting-edge digital technologies to enhance clinical research and operations.
Oversee the integration of new technologies, ensuring they meet business objectives and align with digital strategy.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
Manage relationships with technology vendors, driving strategic partnerships and negotiating optimal contracts.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technology solutions meet organizational needs and drive business growth.

Team Management:
Build and manage a high-performing team responsible for software implementation, digital infrastructure build, and ongoing maintenance.
Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, promoting technical excellence and driving business outcomes.

Compliance and Security:
Ensure compliance with cybersecurity protocols and data privacy regulations across multiple countries, implementing best practices for data security and integrity.

Required Skills and Abilities:
Proven experience in digital transformation and technology leadership within the clinical research industry.
Strong understanding of data management principles, analytics methodologies, and regulatory requirements for clinical research and trials, especially in Africa.
Expertise in cloud infrastructure and large-scale distributed systems, with proficiency in clinical trial data and management software and regulatory software.
Strong negotiation skills and experience in vendor management, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Demonstrated confidentiality and discretion as required.

Education and Experience:
Advanced degree in computer science, IT, or a related field, with 10+ years of experience working in digital transformation, data analytics, or technology leadership roles within the clinical research industry.
Fluency in English is required, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
