System Administrator III

ActioNet, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled System Administrator III to join our team. As a key member of our IT infrastructure team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our enterprise backup and restoration operations. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of ITIL and industry best practices, as well as experience with Red Hat Linux OS and VOIP systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement processes to provide support and assistance to ensure system and infrastructure backups are completed, when scheduled, as required
- Follow Enterprise directives and procedures to periodically test backup and restore operations procedures where applicable
- Aid with documenting all backup and restoration operations in logs to allow for auditing of the activity
- Assist with and make recommendations to the Government to improve processes, tools, and/or procedures that will improve backup efficiency and reliability
- Assist with the coordination of appropriate government activity or agency in the resolution of any issues with backup/restore processes
- Ensure all backups and other removable media are encrypted in accordance with Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) or other DoD/Federal requirements; all backups and other removable media shall be properly labeled and properly stored in fire-resistant vaults for operational back-ups (on-site storage) and historical backups (off-site storage) in accordance with DHA Enterprise policies directives and procedures
- Perform technical duties related to VOIP, IX Messaging, ACD and custom Call Center applications; perform or assigns adds moves, changes related to end points
- Knowledge and expertise in Red Hat Linux OS
- Monitor daily performance alarms, errors, and outage trends
- Review product delivery and host acceptance duties; verify hand receipts/ownership responsibilities
- Confirm diagrams, sustainment & operational documentation are available to the support staff
- Track pertinent system information, architecture, and performance; identify significant metrics
- Submit all Circuit Management request, submit all JBSA-FSH circuit request; perform all circuit sustainment actions to include Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Toll Free Number and DSN activities
- Define and create Avaya system permissions and skill level access
- Update and document VOIP system structure
- Update and document VOIP VLAN Configuration and submit all VLAN requests to IPVM via Service Now ticket
- Update and document VOIP File Server settings
- Update and document Avaya Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM)
- Maintain credentials to access hosted environments
- Participate in project, leadership, DGIS, and other telecommunication related meetings
- Manage and troubleshoot new or existing server operating systems for related infrastructure software and hardware
- Administer day-to-day sustainment, integrity, security and availability of infrastructure platforms
- Execute capacity analysis, maintain security posture of infrastructure systems, and monitor performance
- Create standard operating procedures, maintenance guides, and knowledge base articles, as necessary to ensure proper documentation is established for the operational upkeep of the infrastructure platforms
- Perform platform maintenance upgrades to ensure a proper security and operational posture is maintained
- Assist architecture and engineering with evaluation, making recommendations and testing of infrastructure hardware and software products
- Provide support for Virtual Machines (VM)
- Execute Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance
- Provide Support for Group Policy Objects (GPO)
- Provide Support for Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager
- Support End User Devices (EUD), as required
