About the Role
As a Logistics Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal part in driving supply chain efficiency and customer satisfaction at BNSF Railway. This strategic position involves overseeing end-to-end logistics operations to minimize costs and maximize delivery times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supply Chain Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior leaders to devise and execute logistics strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Procurement and Sourcing: Foster strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and optimize sourcing processes while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Transportation Management: Oversee transportation operations, implement cost-saving initiatives, and ensure timely delivery of goods across various modes.
  • Inventory Control: Develop strategies to minimize carrying costs, maintain optimal inventory levels, and enhance order fulfillment rates.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a diverse logistics team, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing across departments.
  • Performance Analysis: Track key metrics such as on-time delivery, inventory turnover, and cost savings, driving continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or equivalent; an advanced degree is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in logistics management, with at least 5 years in a defense industry manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics principles, procurement processes, and government contract regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation, leadership, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation Package
The estimated annual salary for this role is $140,000 - $180,000, depending on qualifications and experience. This figure reflects the company's commitment to providing competitive compensation and benefits packages that align with industry standards.
