Key Responsibilities:

- Coordinate scheduling for tests ordered by the physician, ensuring all necessary authorizations are obtained (including CT scans, MRIs, Bone Scans, and more).
- Manage the scheduling of surgeries or procedures, which involves obtaining patient consent, entering details into the physician's surgery log, and coordinating with external facilities.
- Handle incoming faxes related to physical therapy requests, home health services, and other correspondence.
- Learn and apply appropriate CPT codes to assist with surgical billing and authorizations, ensuring accurate coding and submission to the insurance department.
- Authorize insurance for various procedures and tests, including worker's compensation and specialty treatments.
- Conduct chart audits and complete necessary disability forms.
- Maintain accuracy in the physician's schedule according to their preferences.
- Ensure patients have all required clearances, lab results, and imaging prior to surgery, facilitating timely communication with external facilities.
- Schedule appointments for both returning and new patients, managing a high volume of calls effectively.
- Process medication requests and refills as directed by the physician.
- Coordinate depositions for the physician, ensuring proper documentation and payment processes are followed.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with external facilities to ensure smooth transitions for patient care.
- Support team members and demonstrate a willingness to assist when needed.
- Engage in cross-training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge within the organization.
- Embrace additional responsibilities as required.
