Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente's Tysons Corner Medical Center. As a CT Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Imaging Services: Perform computerized tomography (CT) examinations of patients as requested by referring physicians, ensuring accurate and efficient imaging procedures.
  • Patient Care: Greet patients, confirm image requirements, explain procedures, and provide sensitive care to patients with anxiety about the procedure.
  • Medical History Review: Review patients' medical history prior to performing CT procedures and confirm that patients have signed a contrast media consent form.
  • Equipment Operation: Position patients on examination tables, monitor patients' conditions during examinations, and introduce intravenous contrast material as directed by radiologists.
  • Image Quality Control: Control and adjust CT equipment to ensure that images meet requirements.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain equipment and examination rooms, store film, and manage related supplies.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare patient information files and submit reports showing the number and type of examinations.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required; Graduate of a certified/accredited ARRT program required.
  • Experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience as a CT Technologist or registry eligible ARRT advanced certification in CT required; certification must be obtained within twelve (12) months of hire.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Radiologic Technologist License (Virginia) required; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Computed Tomography within 12 months of hire required.
Additional Requirements
  • Continuing Education: Current on CEUs with ARRT required.
  • Physical Demands: Required to stand, push, pull, and lift patients; ability to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption and attend to tasks for 20 to 45 minutes at a time.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Effective interpersonal skills required to work effectively with patients and colleagues.
