We are seeking a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to join our team at North Tampa Behavioral Health Hospital. As a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, you will play a vital role in planning, directing, and implementing activity therapy programs that promote patient progress and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct activity assessments to identify patient needs, skills, interests, and limitations.
- Develop and implement activity therapy programs that align with patient treatment goals.
- Facilitate and lead activity sessions to improve patient mental and physical well-being.
- Instruct patients in various activities, such as sports, dance, music, art, or relaxation techniques.
- Develop treatment plans and implement activity interventions that meet patient needs and interests.
- Engage patients in therapeutic activities, such as exercise, games, and community outings.
- Help patients learn social skills needed to become or remain independent.
- Modify activities to suit the needs of specific groups.
- Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreational Therapy, or a related field.
- Three or more years of experience in recreation in a healthcare setting with knowledge of patient population served by the facility.
- Previous experience in recreation in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or currently in the process of obtaining national certification.
- CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required.
- A comprehensive mental health and addiction treatment program for adults of all genders.
- Specialized programming for seniors.
- A supportive and welcoming work environment.
