Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team in the Sub Assembly Department at General Dynamics Land Systems. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assembling components and ensuring the highest quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare workstations by studying assembly instructions, specifications, and parts lists; gathering necessary tools and materials.
  • Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements to ensure accurate placement.
  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies to meet specifications.
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed components to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Resolve assembly problems by making fine adjustments and notifying supervisors to obtain additional resources as needed.
  • Maintain equipment operational by completing cleaning and lubricating requirements; following manufacturer's instructions and troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Ensure a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock levels; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders with the Team Advisor; and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to perform mechanical tasks and possess mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be a U.S. Person.
