We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for defining, developing, implementing, and transitioning new technology solutions to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and improve quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Creating, maintaining, and updating system documentation
  • Installing, configuring, backing up, retrieving, maintaining, and migrating system programs and data
  • Working under the supervision of senior systems engineers, admins, and architects
  • Monitoring systems, validating the integrity and accessibility of all server resources, hardware, systems, and key processes
  • Carrying out hardware upgrades, performance tuning, and resource optimization
  • Providing technical recommendations and input in subject matter areas to team members and technical leadership
  • Reporting status to Program Managers and IPT Management
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree with 5 years of experience or Master of Science degree with 3 years of experience
  • Working knowledge of at least one system engineering environment (Linux, Windows, or VMware)
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, LDAP, NTP, DNS, and DHCP
  • Able to obtain IAT Level II certification such as Security+ within 90 days
  • U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certificate/key management experience, including knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Digital Certificate Management (DCM), and Hardware Security Modules (HSMs)
  • Knowledge of server and storage infrastructure, hardware, setup, and configuration
  • SCAP and vulnerability scanning tools, including Nessus and remediation experience
  • DISA STIG implementation, including system, device, and software hardening
  • Setup and configuration of logging servers for networking, OS, and app clients
  • Proficiency in scripting in applications (e.g., Shell, PowerShell, Bash, Python)
  • Platform automation for deployment and configuration (e.g., Ansible, Windows Configuration Designer)
  • IAT Level II or Level III certification
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering, computer science, or electrical engineering
