Behavioral Support Specialist

The Miami County Board of Developmental Disabilities is seeking a skilled Behavioral Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing behavior support strategies for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and review behavioral assessments with individuals and their teams.
- Implement positive and restrictive strategies in accordance with individual and team input.
- Train designated provider staff in restrictive strategies prior to implementation.
- Monitor positive and restrictive strategies through observations and interviews.
- Provide support to individuals on topics such as grief, parenting techniques, and crisis intervention.
Requirements:
- Valid license issued by the Ohio Board of Psychology, Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Board, or State Medical Board of Ohio.
- At least three years of experience in developing and implementing behavior support strategies.
- Ability to maintain registration or certification.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications.
