Responsibilities:

As a Medical Receptionist, you will maintain behavior compliant with Federal and State regulations, guidelines, and requirements, including working knowledge of all health information management issues such as HIPAA. Your responsibilities will include:

* Greeting, registering, instructing, discharging, and providing general assistance to patients
* Obtaining and recording demographic, insurance, and financial information
* Verifying insurance eligibility and relaying relevant information on payment policies and billing/collection processes
* Collecting co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, and past due balances
* Retrieving and faxing/mail medical records to primary care providers and insurance carriers per patient request
* Answering telephone, taking messages, and returning voicemails
* Providing clerical support as required

* Medical office experience and familiarity with basic medical terminology preferred
* Ability to work independently and with the public in a high-pressure environment
* Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills
