Job Summary

Missouri Department of Conservation is seeking a highly skilled Chief Budget Officer to lead the Department's financial planning and budgeting efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic financial guidance and oversight to ensure the Department's financial stability and success.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans and budgets that align with the Department's strategic goals and objectives.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to inform decision-making and drive business outcomes.
• Manage and oversee the Department's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders to identify and prioritize financial initiatives and projects.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders to ensure effective financial planning and management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum of eight years of progressively responsible professional experience in financial management or related areas, with three years in a supervisory and/or administrative capacity.
• Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.), Certified Internal Auditor (C.I.A.), or Certified Government Financial Manager (C.G.F.M.) strongly preferred.

Working Environment

The successful candidate will work in a standard office environment, with regular attendance and ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods. The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with others is essential.
