Healthcare Enrollment Specialist

NATIVE HEALTH is a healthcare organization dedicated to providing accessible holistic patient-centered care to urban American Indians, Alaska Natives, and other individuals who generally experience barriers to health and wellness services. As a Patient Enrollment Specialist, you will play a vital role in facilitating the enrollment of patients into our Integrated System of Care.
About the Role
This position requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for managing patient pre-registration, registration, and eligibility for insurance coverage, as well as providing education, advocacy, and enrollment assistance for Medicaid, Health Insurance Marketplace, and other health plan options. Your expertise in the Sliding Fee Scale program, AHCCCS, CMDP, Title V, SNAP, and TANF will enable you to effectively link program participants and their families with community health resources to address social needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff in person and on the phone
- Manages patient pre-registration, registration, and eligibility for insurance coverage
- Offers education, advocacy, and enrollment assistance for Medicaid, Health Insurance Marketplace, and other health plan options
- Ensures compliance with the Discount program available for all patients and fee waivers for AI/AN patients
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent with five years combined experience in customer service, healthcare advocacy, and education, patient registration, or direct care medical experience
- Associate degree preferred
- Bilingual in English/Spanish languages preferred
- Must be flexible in work hours, including Saturday hours
- Must maintain a valid Arizona driver's license during employment
Benefits
NATIVE HEALTH offers a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on experience.
