Job Title: Principal Program Analyst

Northern Defense Industries, LLC, an AMS Group company, is a leading provider of integrated security solutions for critical infrastructure, maritime, and transportation applications. Our team specializes in designing, integrating, testing, and installing air, land, sea, and subsea surveillance and interdiction systems. We also offer through-life system support and maintenance, including remote and onsite technical assistance, troubleshooting, and training.

Job Summary

The Principal Program Analyst provides complex master schedule, cost management, and program controls to assigned projects. This role assists Program Managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams in achieving success for existing and future programs, and reports to the Senior Manager, Program Finance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning and Scheduling: Develops and maintains program Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) using Microsoft Project, integrates into earned value cost tools, and ensures costs and timing align with project requirements and objectives.
  • Financial Analysis, Earned Value Management System (EVMS) & Reporting: Performs detailed financial analysis to monitor program performance, identifies cost and schedule variances, tracks program funding, and prepares weekly and monthly reports.
  • Controls & Compliance Risk Management: Establishes and maintains internal cost and schedule controls and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance within Earned Value Management System.
  • Process Improvement: Continually evaluates existing processes and proposes improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall program and business performance.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Communicates and collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams to gather data and insights for schedule and financial analysis reporting.
Requirements
  • Understanding of program financial analysis and planning, cost control, and budget management.
  • Strong understanding of EVMS Program Startup activities and requirements to establish and maintain Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and ability to generate, decipher, and adjudicate DCMA 14-Point Inspections and other auditable metrics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to develop ad hoc cost models.
  • Exceptional communication abilities and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Capabilities
  • Experience in EVMS forProject, Sage, Microsoft Business Central, Clockify, SmartSheets.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Earned Value Management System Interpretation Guide (EVMSIG) and Earned Value Management Systems EIA-748-D Intent Guide.
  • PMP Certificate.
Work Experience & Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in program master scheduling and best practices, EVMS implementation, process development, and cost controls.
