About the RoleWe are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual to assist in the development and implementation of process improvements in our manufacturing facility. As a Process Engineering Co-op/Intern, you will work closely with our experienced engineers and technicians to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions to optimize our processes.
Key Responsibilities- Apply process improvement tools, including statistical process control, process mapping, and design of experiments, to identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze critical line data to make recommendations for improvement from trends.
- Develop standards and train line technicians for continuous improvement at the line.
- Develop and document processes, including process flow diagrams.
- Interact with cross-functional teams, including New Product Development, Packaging Concept Development, and Technical Packaging Development, to ensure effective implementation of new products.
- Work with Supplier Quality Engineers to create links between operational requirements and material supplier capabilities.
- Drive cost savings through improved productivity, material utilization improvements, and labor optimization.
- B.S. Degree in an Engineering Discipline with 1-2 years remaining until graduation.
- Working knowledge of statistics, including Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Lean tools, including poka yoke, mistake proofing, and standard work.
- Intermediate to advanced level computer skills, including Microsoft Office and SAP.
