About the Taxpayer Services Division

The Taxpayer Services Division is responsible for providing assistance and support to taxpayers. Our team works to ensure that taxpayers receive the help they need to navigate the tax system.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Clerk to join our team in the Taxpayer Services Division. As a Clerk, you will be responsible for performing administrative tasks, assisting with taxpayer inquiries, and preparing reports. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform administrative tasks, including data entry, record-keeping, and report preparation.
  • Assist taxpayers with inquiries and provide information on tax-related topics.
  • Prepare and maintain reports, including production and inventory reports.
  • Conduct searches and follow up on delayed shipments.
  • Transcribe and verify taxpayer-prepared tax returns and related documents.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have at least 6 months of general clerical experience.
Qualifications

Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through an internship. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume.

Additional Information
  • Subject to a 1-year probationary period.
  • Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • We may select from this announcement or any other source to fill one or more vacancies.

This is a bargaining unit position. The tour of duty is a late shift, Monday - Friday, 4:00 pm - 10:00 pm. In the event that a building is closed due to rent management, new hires may be placed in a local commuting location.

As a reminder - If you are selected for a position, you are responsible for reporting to your designated POD (location) on the negotiated start date or as directed by management.

Season length is 6 to 8 months. Employees who work a seasonal work schedule are placed in non-pay status or recalled to duty as workload or budget dictates and in accordance with their seasonal employment agreement.

Relocation expenses - No

This position has no promotion potential.
