About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Tax Clerk to join our team at the Internal Revenue Service. As a Tax Clerk, you will play a critical role in supporting the Taxpayer Services Division by performing a variety of administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in identifying and reviewing Forms W-2 attached to Forms 1040EZ and 1040PC for conditions meeting Criminal Investigation criteria and code the returns appropriately.
  • Prepare and maintain regular production/inventory reports using established formats and sources of data applicable to the program, functional, or organizational reporting requirements.
  • Conduct searches and other follow-up action on delayed shipments where acknowledged transmittals are not received timely.
  • Transcribe and/or key verify a wide variety of taxpayer prepared tax returns, related schedules, and/or documents.
Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 16 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Have at least 6 months of general clerical related experience.

Additional requirements include undergoing a review of prior performance/conduct and an income tax verification. You must also be a U.S. Citizen or National and provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
