Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Front End Supervisor to join our team at Balducci's. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our front end operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide fast, friendly, and courteous service to all customers, handling customer relations and resolving complaints in a positive and professional manner.
  • Front End Operations: Direct and supervise front end activities, including monitoring customer traffic and service levels, coordinating and implementing front end and service programs, and ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the front end physical area.
  • Cash Handling: Handle and be accountable for cash flow and controls, including safe transactions, issues and pick-ups, cash register tills, approving checks, rain checks, and refunds, and monitoring checker money handling procedures.
  • Training and Development: Train front end and courtesy clerks and monitor their compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Budget Management: Responsible for achieving budget goals for labor, cash variation, check expense, and supplies.
  • Cost and Quality Control: Maintain a constant awareness of customer and employee safety, and enforce dress and grooming standards for all employees.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applications in the front end.
Requirements
  • Strong Communication and Leadership Skills: Ability to maintain composure under pressure and deal with the public in a positive and professional manner.
  • Physical Demands: Frequently lift and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to approximately 55 lbs, and ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to operate and troubleshoot PCs and check stand equipment, such as printers, scales, public announcement equipment, scanners, and cash registers.
  • Knowledge and Analytical Skills: Knowledge of interviewing techniques, basic employment law, computer software, and analytical ability to handle administrative details such as planning and scheduling.
  • Supervisory Skills: Ability to supervise, analyze and gather facts for recommending disciplinary action, and make hiring decisions.
Work Environment

Working conditions consist of a temperature-controlled store environment. Occasional exposure to outdoor environment with varying temperatures. Job responsibilities include tasks or duties that could affect the safety or health of the employee performing the task or others.
