Job Overview

Position Title: Lead Web Application Engineer

Classification: Exempt

Reports to: Chief Technology Officer

The Lead Web Application Engineer is tasked with the design and upkeep of intricate web solutions, working in collaboration with diverse teams, guiding less experienced developers, and creating robust web applications. This role demands the development of scalable web solutions, a comprehensive grasp of web technologies, and proficiency in AWS cloud services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Architect, implement, and sustain sophisticated web applications utilizing PHP, MySQL, Redis, AJAX, and the Laravel framework.

2. Partner with various teams to guarantee that the applications fulfill organizational needs.

3. Oversee and maintain AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, and Elastic Beanstalk.

4. Manage projects from inception to launch, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgetary limits.

5. Provide mentorship and support to junior developers, fostering their professional growth.

6. Keep abreast of emerging trends in web technologies and introduce innovative ideas to the team.

7. Diagnose and resolve application issues to ensure peak performance and user satisfaction.

8. Continuously enhance development practices and methodologies to boost efficiency and quality.

9. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for applications, including code annotations and technical specifications.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

2. At least five (5) years of experience in web development.

3. AWS certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Developer is preferred.

4. Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes is a plus.

5. Experience with version control systems such as Git is advantageous.

6. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Supervisory Role
This position does not involve managing departmental employees or overseeing their performance evaluations and hiring processes.

Work Environment
This role is conducted in a professional office setting and routinely utilizes standard office equipment.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.

While executing the responsibilities of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. The employee frequently needs to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms.

This role may require the employee to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary based on job requirements.

Travel Requirements
Some travel outside the local area and overnight stays may be expected.
