Position Overview

The Quality Manager is accountable for ensuring that quality protocols are adhered to and enhanced across all Southwest Electric Co. facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Root Cause Analysis: Facilitate and support investigations into non-conformances. Establish and track quality and operational metrics, proposing improvements to enhance performance.
  2. Internal Audits: Lead and assist in conducting internal audits at Southwest Electric locations post-training completion. Provide support for supplier audits as required.
  3. BOM Reconciliation: Collaborate with the engineering team to align material usage and minimize discrepancies.
  4. Quality Standards Development: Create and maintain written procedures and assist in the formulation of training programs as needed.
  5. Policy Development: Contribute to the formulation of company policies and ensure adherence to established guidelines.
  6. Employee Morale: Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and the judicious use of company resources.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Engage with various departments, vendors, and other Southwest Electric locations to assess, refine, and enhance processes, ensuring a culture of ongoing improvement. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) as directed.
  8. Safety Management: Advocate for and uphold a safe working environment through the implementation of safety measures and training.
  9. Product Launch Support: Aid in the establishment of acceptance criteria for in-process and final products.

Additional Responsibilities: Consistently operate in a safe manner, adhering to the company's environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree is mandatory, preferably in Business, Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or a related field.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or operational leadership is required.

Experience in a quality role within a transformer manufacturing environment is advantageous.

A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Working Conditions

  1. Primarily an office setting.
  2. This role necessitates regular visits to manufacturing areas, both indoors and outdoors.
  3. Occasional climbing of ladders may be required for inspections or information gathering.
  4. May need to lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  5. Reasonable accommodations will be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Travel to other Southwest Electric sites and suppliers may be necessary.
