Job Title: Quality Manager

Job Summary:

The Quality Manager is a key member of the Quality team responsible for ensuring the quality requirements are implemented and within compliance of the Quality Management System in accordance with AS9100D:2016, ISO 9001:2015, FAA 14 CFR Part 145 and 21, and statutory, regulatory, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead training and education related to the Quality Management System
  • Develop, implement, maintain and enhance all quality assurance and quality control activities that impact the business and its programs
  • Develop and post metrics to measure progress and improvements related to all quality related programs and initiatives
  • Coordinate and align projects with other managers across all functional areas of the business unit and manage a team of professionals that ensure the highest quality product for our customers
  • Establish quality department operational objectives and assignments to support overall business unit plans and goals
  • Manage, organize, plan and execute the overall quality operation to achieve business unit and company goals
  • Manage quality department resources to complete quality duties on time and in a cost-effective manner
  • Manage quality department resources to assist all other functions within the business unit requiring quality assistance as required by the General Manager
  • Assist with plant safety and environmental programs
  • Conduct contract reviews to ensure compliance with customer terms and conditions
  • Communicate with customers regarding quality issues and ensure that corrective actions are adopted and sustainable
  • Communicate with external auditors and assist organization to correct any deficiencies that may be found by performing a root cause analysis
  • Lead and conduct routine quality audits to ensure compliance with Quality Management System
  • Balance quality assurance and quality control within the organization

Qualifications:

  • 4 year degree in a technical discipline preferred
  • 10 years of quality related manufacturing experience
  • At least 5 years of management experience leading a quality group
  • ASQ certification or comparable experience
  • Training in lean, SPC, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement programs
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and to read and interpret technical requirements and industry specifications
  • At least 5 years of experience with implementation and maintenance of ISO or AS quality system
  • Proficient with MS Office and MS Access software
  • Experience with 14 CFR Part 145 and Part 21

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Business Quality Management or related field preferred. 3-5 years related Quality experience and training. Brazing, Metal Forming, Repair / Overhaul experience preferred. Familiarity with SPC, process improvement, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action programs. NDT background highly preferred.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving variables in fluid situations.
