Senior Audit Accountant

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to proficiently execute the following responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and finalization of compilations, reviews, and audits.
  • Prepare and assess financial statements and management letters with minimal oversight.
  • Evaluate work papers on engagements created by audit personnel.
  • Exhibit proficiency in technical abilities, quality of work, and adherence to professional and firm standards.
  • Identify weaknesses in internal controls and provide management recommendations.
  • Create clear and comprehensive work papers and documentation for all assignments.
  • Supervise multiple team members and contribute to their professional development.
  • Assist managers in resolving complex client issues, applying knowledge of auditing and accounting standards, and researching significant matters.
  • Build relationships with clients and community contacts to enhance the firm’s business development efforts.
  • Mentor and train junior accountants, and conduct performance evaluations upon project completion.
  • Support managers and partners with various additional projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA certification required or in progress.
  • Prior experience as a senior or in-charge accountant in a public accounting environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with strict deadlines.
  • Preferred familiarity with ProSystem Engagement, ProSystem Tax, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimal overnight travel required.
