Job Title: Permit Coordinator

Overview:

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Permit Coordinator to join our team at SQUAN. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating permitting activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate permitting activities, including submitting and tracking permits, and maintaining project trackers.
  • Communicate with Jurisdictions Having Authority (JHAs), clients, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate permitting.
  • Manage JHA relationships, including regular communication and coordination of permit applications.
  • Ensure permit applications are completed accurately and submitted on time.
  • Collaborate with internal construction and finance teams to coordinate payment of permitting fees.
  • Drive profitability by communicating with project managers and construction teams to coordinate project execution.
  • Stay up-to-date with JHA scope changes and communicate these changes to project managers and clients.
  • Assist project managers with creating change orders driven by JHA requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date permitting trackers.
  • Adhere to timelines for permit submittal, approval, and closeout.
  • Collaborate with project managers to overcome obstacles preventing timely permit submission and approval.
  • Focus on high-level customer interaction with internal and external customers.
  • Validate daily work received from the field to ensure accuracy of in-house and subcontractor reporting.
  • Attend client meetings with project managers or billing teams as needed.
  • Assist construction teams with scheduling JHA inspectors, flaggers, and other ancillary requests.
  • May be required to draw permit polygons in GIS tools.
  • Enter all permit instances in Site Tracker and update statuses regularly.
  • Submit timesheets daily with accurate time coding.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Valid driver's license and excellent driving record.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and background check.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • Two years of experience in telecommunication, logistics coordination, or project coordination preferred.
