About the Role

The anticipated salary range for this position is between $85,000.00 and $170,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support both in-house and external software solutions for daily XVA analysis, troubleshooting any issues with the production environment to ensure solutions meet SLAs.
  • Design and implement new products or functionalities in both in-house and external software solutions to support the XVA desk and other front, middle office's specifications and requirements.
  • Collaborate with business teams to assist and provide answers to Credit Risk analysis related enquiries.
  • Improve software performance, business processes, and operational efficiency.
  • Work with business teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements, needs, or process gaps.
  • Participate in periodic development meetings to align development priorities and objectives, assign tasks, and share knowledge and experiences with teammates.

Requirements

  • Proficient in software implementation, programming languages (e.g., C/C++, Python), and scripting languages, with an active interest in other computing technology and tools.
  • Practical work experience involving system architecture, software application, message, and data transfer and processing, with the ability to provide implementation on new products and troubleshooting on existing models.
  • Solid background and work experience with mathematical finance and strong analytical and quantitative skills, especially in financial products, XVA, and credit risks business logic.
  • Functional understanding of application development planning processes (e.g., Agile, Scrum, DevOps) and change management and testing procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills for diagnosing and troubleshooting potential system issues, with a sharp mind to process solutions with quick turn-around.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or comparable discipline is desirable.
  • Understanding of technical, infrastructure, data, and security requirements of developed solutions and ability to translate into adequate technical specifications and guidelines.
