A key role within the Borough of North Slope AK is the Firefighter/EMT, responsible for responding to emergencies and performing duties related to fire suppression, rescue, and emergency care during ground ambulance transport. This individual must be able to work effectively in high-stress situations and possess a strong foundation in firefighting techniques, medical procedures, and emergency response protocols.
Key Responsibilities:- Respond to emergency calls and perform duties as assigned
- Operate firefighting equipment, including pumps and hoses
- Provide emergency medical care, including CPR and first aid
- Assist with departmental training and professional development
- FIRE FIGHTER, EMT Certification
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 100 pounds)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
The estimated salary range for this position is between $45,000 and $65,000 per year. Please note that this is an estimated salary range based on industry standards and may vary depending on location and experience.
