Role Summary and Requirements

Surgical Technologist Responsibilities

As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing and supporting surgical procedures. Your duties will include:

  • Gathering and organizing necessary supplies and equipment for surgeries.
  • Setting up sterile instrument tables for procedures.
  • Assisting in patient positioning and skin preparation for surgery.
  • Maintaining sterile techniques and monitoring for any potential breaches.
  • Supporting the surgical team during operations by passing instruments and materials.
  • Monitoring patient status throughout the procedure.
  • Cleaning and sterilizing equipment post-surgery.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program is required.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist is mandatory.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that involve standing, bending, lifting, and moving patients or equipment.
