Role Responsibilities

Surgical Technologist (Operating Room Technician)

As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for providing critical support in the operating room. Your duties will include:

  • Preparing and assembling necessary surgical supplies and equipment.
  • Setting up sterile instrument tables for procedures.
  • Assisting in patient positioning and skin preparation prior to surgery.
  • Maintaining sterile techniques and monitoring for potential breaches in protocol.
  • Supporting the surgical team during operations by passing instruments and supplies.
  • Monitoring patient status during procedures.
  • Collecting and preparing equipment for cleaning and sterilization post-surgery.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program is required.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist is mandatory (CAAHEP, NCCT, NBSTSA).
  • BLS certification is required (American Heart or American Red Cross).
  • Previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that involve standing, bending, lifting, and moving patients or equipment.
