The Cytology Specialist plays a crucial role in the microscopic examination of gynecological and non-gynecological specimens. This position also involves supporting pathologists and physicians in specimen collection and overseeing the cytology processing workflow.
Key Responsibilities:

Exhibit core competencies including punctuality, adaptability in scheduling, sound independent judgment, and a professional demeanor that fosters teamwork and positivity.
Stay informed about relevant policies, specimen collection methods, testing procedures, and laboratory equipment.Demonstrate the technical skills required for precise and dependable testing outcomes.
Effectively manage quality control, proficiency testing, and personal performance evaluations within the cytology section.
Gather and analyze statistical data for the cytology department to identify areas for improvement.
Assist in inventory management and the exploration of new testing methodologies or enhanced services.
Share departmental updates during staff meetings, engage in continuing education, and mentor new team members.
Participate in interdisciplinary committees and serve as a technical resource within the section.
Qualifications:
Essential:
Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or Biology.
Completion of an accredited Cytotechnology program lasting one year.
ASCP certification or eligibility as a Cytotechnologist.
