Pharmacy Intern Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Intern to join our team at Aurora Health Care Southern Lakes, Inc. The successful candidate will assist pharmacists with various tasks, including preparing medications, interviewing patients, and performing clerical duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist pharmacists with medication preparation and dispensing
  • Interview patients to obtain medication histories
  • Perform clerical duties to ensure efficient pharmacy operations
  • Receive and interpret medication/prescription orders
  • Perform medication and prescription billing activities
  • Participate in mock job/residency interviews and project opportunities

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited or approved program in Pharmacy
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity

Working Conditions:

  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job
  • Frequent fine motor motion of hands and wrists
  • Lifts, carries, and/or pushes/pulls various items

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, bend, kneel, climb, twist, crawl, and reach above shoulders
  • Must have functional speech, vision, touch, and hearing

Benefits:

This is a part-time position with no benefits eligibility.

Work Schedule:

This position requires a rotating 1st and 2nd shift schedule.
