Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and courteous Bellman/Shuttle Driver to join our team at Marriott North Charleston. As a key member of our hotel staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome guests warmly and create a positive first impression of the hotel
  • Hold doors open for guests and promote hotel facilities and services
  • Provide accurate information on hotel facilities, local attractions, and transportation arrangements
  • Maintain effective communication with transportation staff and hotel departments
  • Stay aware of issues related to bell staff and hotel operations
  • Attend scheduled meetings and be responsive to instructions and suggestions
  • Adhere to arrangements made for special guest needs and instructions relating to VIP and special requests
  • Transport guests to and from designated locations using official hotel vehicles
  • Operate hotel vehicles safely and in accordance with established laws
  • Perform assigned duties associated with guest transportation, including maintaining logs and showing videos
  • Read, track, and comply with guest transportation schedules
  • Properly maintain and clean hotel vehicles
  • Listen to and promptly act on guest problems and complaints
  • Comprehend and abide by all traffic regulations while transporting guests
  • Remain calm and alert during emergencies or heavy hotel activity
  • Listen, understand, and respond immediately to customer and employee inquiries and requests for assistance
  • Greet customers with a friendly and sincere welcome
  • Lift luggage, packages, and boxes from cars, buses, vans, and carts
  • Clearly communicate the features and services of the hotel facilities
  • Maintain an alert and attentive demeanor
  • Maintain cleanliness of hotel vehicles
  • Take vehicles for periodic servicing and fueling as required
  • Pick up and deliver laundry to designated locations
Requirements
  • Valid State Driver's License
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to deal with internal and external customers, including those requiring high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy
  • Ability to read English language to ascertain information from luggage tags, claim checks, and identify specific airline/customer pickup and drop off points
  • Ability to complete a pre-driving checklist for vehicles on a daily basis
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive interpersonal relationships
