Key Responsibilities- Prepare medication orders for unit dose and intravenous admixtures in the cleanroom
- Prepare intravenous admixtures and other sterile products using aseptic techniques
- Compound and reconstitute drug products
- Demonstrate safe and effective handling of hazardous medication in preparation techniques and disposal
- Distribute medications
- Replenish and maintain automated dispensing cabinet systems (Omnicell)
- Transport medications to patient care areas
- Assist in the organization and monitoring of pharmaceuticals and supplies
- Assist with inventory control
- Process orders
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment
- Assist with the training of Pharmacy Technician Intern/Trainees, Pharmacy Technician I's, and Pharmacy Externs
- Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the State of Illinois
- Any one of the following that equals six (6) months:
- Successful completion of a formal training program in technical, non-professional pharmaceutical procedures and practices
- Work experience in technical, non-professional pharmaceutical procedures and practices
- One (1) year (12 months) of work experience as a pharmacy technician
- Demonstrate experience with sterile compounding
- One year experience working in a hospital pharmacy cleanroom
