Senior Real Estate Counselor

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Real Estate Counselor to join our team at BJ's Wholesale Club. As a key member of our real estate department, you will play a critical role in supporting the company's growth and expansion.
Key Responsibilities- Negotiate and draft complex commercial real estate documents, including leases, purchase and sale agreements, and development agreements.
- Provide expert legal guidance to various stakeholders on lease provisions, operational issues, and other real estate-related matters.
- Analyze title and survey reports to identify potential environmental risks and liabilities.
- Work closely with outside counsel to manage real estate-related litigation and assist in updating the company's real estate documents and forms.
- Collaborate with local land use counsel on zoning, permitting, and other regulatory matters.
- Bachelor's degree and law degree from a top college or university.
- 8-10 years of experience as deal counsel, particularly in leasing and development, with significant experience on behalf of retail organizations.
- Strong negotiating skills and experience working with major national and regional shopping center developers and landlords.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects without supervision.
- Experience in construction law and familiarity with construction contracts a plus.
This is a hybrid role, with Tuesday through Thursday spent in-office at our Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA, and Monday and Friday spent working remotely.
