Job Summary

The Department Assistant - Healthcare Operations plays a vital role in the success of The University of Kansas Health System. This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Case Management and Social Work teams, ensuring the smooth operation of departmental functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communication and Coordination: Facilitate effective communication among healthcare team members, patients, and families to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to Case Managers and Social Workers, including data entry, report generation, and document management.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate resources and services to support patient care, including referrals to community agencies and post-acute care providers.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and departmental operations.
  • Confidentiality and Integrity: Maintain patient, employee, and corporate confidentiality, ensuring the integrity of sensitive information.
Requirements
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years of broad administrative/secretarial experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong customer service skills, ability to work with multiple tasks simultaneously, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's or bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field.
  • Experience: Healthcare background and experience with MS Office programs.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, working four days a week, 9:00am-5:30pm.
