The Nursing Assistant (NA) plays a vital role in providing resident-centered care and daily living assistance to seniors in assisted living. This position requires a caring and compassionate individual who can provide support with basic health care needs, daily living activities, and psychosocial support.
Responsibilities- Assist residents with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining and recording vital signs
- Provide psychosocial support and other personal care to assigned residents
- Assist with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment
- Complete tasks related to food preparation and dining, creating a positive dining experience for residents
- Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as appropriate
- Document outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary
- Communicate changing conditions, medication follow-up, and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Minimum age of 16
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
