Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Project Engineer to join our team at American States Utility Services. Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review preliminary and final design plans, engineering reports, permit documents, standard details, specifications, and other documents required to complete the design phase of capital projects and prepare projects for construction.
  • File documents, maintain computerized and manual records, and compile data for general information purposes and individual requests for special reports.
  • Compare, process, or maintain a variety of reports and documents.
  • Assist in preparation of cost quote estimates for military base construction projects.
  • As directed, gather financial data and assist in preparation of schedules for new construction proposals.
  • Ensure adherence with policies to maintain local, state, and federal regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and aid in developing process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of current activities.
  • Assist in preparation of internal and external audit activities as required.
  • Provide technical expertise to staff and other team members related to, and not limited to, regulatory and engineering matters.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent, or no less than 4 years of experience in the area of Civil design.
  • Two or more years of related experience preferred.
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain certification within one year of position entry.
  • One year or more of AutoCAD experience in general civil design or in public utilities design strongly preferred.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License issued by the state where employed.
  • Must take and pass Federal OSHA and or State Mandated Safety training with annual refresher courses as required by the associated regulations for this position.

The compensation range provided is in compliance with state specific laws. Multiple factors are used to determine the actual starting rate of pay for all of our positions, including specific skills, years of experience, education, certification(s), and other job-related factors.
