Job Description

The Project Engineer will work directly for the Project Managers on heavy civil construction projects, with a focus on project management, site development, and critical path scheduling.


  • Collaborate with Project Manager and Superintendents to ensure accurate resource allocation.
  • Assist with daily duties and tasks, support field crews, and participate in job-site and safety meetings.
  • Coordinate traffic control plans, perform project cost accounting functions, and document safety incidents or near misses.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:


  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, or 2-5 years of experience in civil concrete or related fields.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • A good understanding of MS Project Scheduling software or equivalent.
  • Strong mathematical skills and the ability to perform complex computations.
  • Broad knowledge of project management, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and contract administration.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position requires:


  • Ability to operate vehicles, trailers, machinery, and equipment safely.
  • Regular travel to job sites, client meetings, and occasional evening/weekend work.
  • Adaptability to varying weather conditions and potential exposure to chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other air-borne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines, and dust/debris.
