Job Summary

Healthcare Staffing Plus is seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join our team on a local contract basis. As a Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and assess medication orders to identify potential and actual drug-related problems.
  • Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate and compound and dispense medications for accurate delivery to patients.
  • Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients, and communicate with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.
  • Oversee technical personnel who assist in the preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of medications and supplies.
  • Assist with academic functions such as serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students and may float to provide coverage of pharmacy needs.
  • Provide patient counseling efficiently and effectively when required.
Requirements
  • Acute Care experience required.
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH) certification.
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Passionate about patient care.
  • Requires a minimum of two years of current Pharmacist experience.
  • Graduate from a fully accredited Pharmacist program.
  • Active unencumbered Pharmacist Michigan state license.
  • One year of Cerner experience.
  • COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
Skills and Abilities
  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
  • A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
