Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy department at Covenant HealthCare. This role involves directing the daily workflow, assigning tasks, and supervising staff to ensure the efficient delivery of pharmaceutical services. The Coordinator will also participate in quality improvement activities, educate staff, and assist with employee performance evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and delegate schedules to ensure proper distribution of assignments and efficient utilization of personnel, space, and facilities.
• Maintain accountability for Pharmacy inventory, equipment, and supplies.
• Model Covenant's Mission, Vision, and Values by providing exceptional care and service to patients and staff.
• Create and maintain a culture of service excellence and accountability in the Pharmacy department.
• Identify and respond to issues related to client satisfaction, including nursing, physician, and patient satisfaction.
• Demonstrate ability to manage and develop staff in coordination with the Manager.
• Familiarity with clinical and non-clinical computer systems and applications.
• Ability to function as a Pharmacist when required, safely and effectively.

Requirements:

• Current Michigan licensure to practice as a Pharmacist.
• Master's Degree or Pharm D preferred.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in a hospital setting, with previous management or education experience preferred.
• Computer competency, including Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes.
• Expert use of equipment placed under direct responsibility.
• Knowledge of standard office equipment.
• Clinical expertise in Pharmacy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well with internal staff and public, and to be tactful in often hectic and stressful situations.
• Sound judgment in handling confidential or sensitive issues and material.
• Ability to develop and lead teams.
• Ability to flex work schedule to meet department and staffing needs.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

• Ability to maintain punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, near vision, midrange vision, far vision, depth perception, visual accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.
• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Occasional carrying, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
